Fisher's Farm Resort

Anyone looking for a short/out of town/budget trip?

Just about last week, I searched all over the Internet for a place where we me and my officemates can spend a bonding session. 2 of them are quitting the job and we decided to have a weekend getaway. What we needed was an out of town trip that is accessible, within our budget and where we can relax and have fun.

Our choices were Batangas, Antipolo and Laguna. But resorts in Batangas are a little pricey. Antipolo is not really that accessible, same as Laguna. Besides, we don't want to rent just a private pool. Our target is not to go over 500/pax, we were 15 by the way. And we really can't afford to rent a van, our only option was to commute.

Good thing, I came across a link to Fisher's Farm Resort in Dasmarinas, Cavite. It's a bit rustic and somehow old-fashioned with a garden, a treehouse, jacuzzi, a pool, a river or a fishpond (i don't know). It's a place where you can definitely relax and take pictures and just chill out. It's very accessible and affordable. Can you imagine, I went there just right after my 12am shift? Here are some pics.

the garden and yup that's me!

the pools

They've got 2 pools and one jacuzzi. They even have the waterfalls effect, o di ba? The transportation was relatively easy. You go to Baclaran and from there take a bus going to Dasmarinas, Cavite. Ask them to drop you off at Arcontica Coliseum where you can take a tricycle to Fishers Farm. Or you can also get off at Dasma Bayan and take a tricycle. The bus fare was around 30 or 40 something from Baclaran ata and the tricycle is 40 pesos. Just don't act as if you're not from there, because they'll charge you higher.

You can also try fishing. They've got Tilapya (ano ba english ng Tilapya hehe) and they can cook it for you for 125/kilo. The caretaker - Mang Arnel was really nice. He even gave us lots of discounts and extensions. Our bill all in all was around 5000 flat and we were 15. That includes the room, one floating cottage and entrance fee from 9pm - 2 pm. It was a real treat.

If you guys are planning to come, leave me a message so I can give you his number and you can get a discount. And before I forget, here's their website where you can check the rates--->

Cheapstick

What exactly is Cheapstick?

But before I answer that, let me tell you about myself first.

I am a twenty something sixteen-year old at heart, born and raised in a middle class family who developed a thing for luxury and living a life full of sophistication. I love to travel and I make it a point to go out of town every month, I love shoes, bags and clothes. And my closet is brimming with signature and unbranded stuff. I usually go for pieces which stand out. I don't want to bump into someone in the street wearing the same shirt as mine (it happened to me already and believe me.. you'd rather die than go through that horror). I love to go for night outs, movie marathon and food trips. I want to go to Bora, Switzerland, Maldives... I wanna be all over the world. I want to read bestsellers; Coelho, Murakami, Sparks, etc. I want to eat Haagen Dazs and crepe everyday. I wanna try everything for once in my life.

Unfortunately, I am just an average employee with a meager income acceptable for an average Filipino but not for someone as extravagant as me.

Cheapstick is exactly about that - the struggle of a pauper with a flair for all things classy and posh, the misadventures afforded with her monthly income subjected to SSS, Philhealth and taxes, the quest for bargains and great finds. It's a one stop guide to living a sophisticated life - on a budget!
